Our ‘we plan’ is the first healthcare plan on the market designed specifically for the health needs of families with 5 levels of hospital cover to choose from, unique tiered pricing for children, students and apprentices as well as comprehensive maternity cover and cover for a parent accompanying a child.

VIVAS Health maternity benefits

Having a baby should be a wonderful experience and the last thing you will want to worry about is the financial cost. Our ‘i plan’ and ‘we plan’ offer a comprehensive range of maternity benefits across all levels, giving you this peace-of-mind.

With a VIVAS Health plan you will be fully covered for up to three nights accommodation in a public hospital, we will pay a contribution towards consultant and pre and post natal consultant and, if you choose to have your baby in a private hospital, we will pay a grant-in-aid towards the cost as detailed below. We will also pay this amount if you choose to have a home birth.

Newborns join free!
Your newborn can join your VIVAS Health policy for free until your next renewal date within 13 weeks of their arrival and no waiting or exclusion periods will apply.

In addition to the above, we also offer the following excellent benefits.

Doula services

As a VIVAS Health member you can access a €200 discount on Doula Ireland packages. You can also choose to get a refund of €300 after you give birth if you choose not to avail of post natal home help.  Doula Ireland packages can include*:

• 2 individual home visits
• development of a birth plan
• 24 x 7 phone support in the 2 weeks before the expected date of delivery
• 5 weekly group HypnoBirthing sessions
• attendance at birth
• 2 home visits post birth

HypnoBirthing Workshops

You will also be happy to hear that VIVAS Health members who have engaged in the services of Doula Ireland can attend one of Doua Ireland’s HypnoBirthing Workshops free of charge. If you wish to participate in a workshop but do not wish to avail in the services of a Doula, you will be given a 20% discount on the rate. (This benefit is available subject to availability of places at the workshop)

Post natal home help

We know very well that it can be a hectic time following the birth of your child. Our post natal home help service has been designed to give you as much time as possible to get back on your feet again. For three days following the birth of your baby, your home help assistant can take over the chores of cleaning and general housework. This is an alternative to Doula services.

Care for parent and child

These benefits are available to everyone with a ‘we plan’ no matter what level you are on. If your child is a VIVAS Health member and in hospital for more than 3 days at one time, an allowance of up to €40 per day can be claimed from VIVAS Health. This is to help you with accommodation or travel costs for the following 14 days while your child is in hospital. Should your child need to convalesce at home after a stay in hospital exceeding 5 days you are entitled to a child home nursing allowance of up to €100 per day for 14 days.
